During the Shang and Zhou dynasties (c. 16th —256 B.C.): Jiang Ziya led an army to attack Shang. When his troops arrived at Mianchi Pass, Shang’s General Zhang Kui and his wife Gao Lanying came out to fight them. Many of Jiang Ziya’s Generals including Ji Shuming, Ji Shukai, Huang Feihu, Chong Heie, Wen Pin, Jiang Xiong, Cui Ying, Tu Xingsun and Deng Chanyu died at the hands of the couple.
